Coconut Research Institute Supported Enterprises "Going Out" to Laos to Develop Oil-tea Camellia Industry

In Feb. 10th, 2016, Prof. Chen Liangqiu and Dr. Jia Xiaocheng were sent to Laos to participate in the preparation of the oil-tea Camellia development.

After 4 days of comprehensive investigation, through covariance of soil, regional vegetation, water system and humanities, the coconut Institute technicians put forward three steps to develop the train of thought. First of all, trial planting 1 hectares, mainly seedlings (5 types); second, planting demonstration of 10 hectares; then, on the basis of obtaining the adaptive materials of oil-tea Camellia, build nursery, expand the planting area, and consider the construction of tea seed oil processing factory. The experts' opinions are well received by Tao Asan, head of Laos ASA plant import and export company.

After further negotiations, Hainan Feng Yilong agricultural science and Technology Development Co., Ltd., Wang Fangguo, Jiang Peijun, and Chen Liangqiu, director of the oil-tea Camellia research center of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, signed the cooperation agreement, and agreed to jointly develop the oil-tea Camellia industry in Laos.
