CRICATATS has very close ties with related foreign research institutions. It has maintained long-term connections with more than 20 international organizations, including the International Coconut Community(ICC), the International Coconut Genetic Resources Network (COGENT) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). Meanwhile, it has maintained scientific research cooperation and technical exchanges with more than 10 tropical countries including Philippines, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Vietnam, which are members of the International Coconut Community.
CRICATATS has carried out cooperation on coconut, oil palm, Camellia and date palm with Centre de cooperation Internationale en Recherche Agronomique pour de Developpement(CIRAD), Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB), Coconut Research Institute of Sri Lanka (CRI, Sri Lanka), the Horticultural Research Institute of Thailand (HRI), Indonesia Coconut and Palm Plants Research Institute (ICPRI), Deakin University of Australia, Dubai Agriculture Bureau of United Arab Emirates, and so on. CRICATAS has signed science and technology cooperation agreements with 10 foreign research institutions including the University of the South Pacific and the Nigerian Oil Palm Research Institute, undertaking more than 36 international cooperation research projects. More than 100 scientific and technical experts were sent abroad for training, inspection, exchange, and scientific and technological assistance, and more than 80 technical experts were introduced. The President of Micronesia and several major national leaders visited CRI for scientific and technological cooperation and asked for technical support. We have hosted some international conferences and international training courses, such as the 3rd International Agricultural Development Fund Project of the International Coconut Genetic Resources Network and the training course for tropical crop cultivation techniques in the South Pacific Island. CRICATAS has introduced the Tropical oil crops and their breeding base has been playing an active role in the industrial development of tropical palm plants in China.
