From August 22 to 31, 2018, expert Huang Shanchun, Lv Chaojun and Li Chaoxu from the Plant Protection Research Department, went to UAE to carry out the investigation, diagnosis and extension service of pollution-free control technology of date palm's pests and diseases at the invitation of the UAE National Agricultural Association.

In Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other places of the United Arab Emirates, the experts group carried out a systematic investigation on the local date palm's pests and diseases, formulated a detailed control plan for the red palm weevil, and established a demonstration base of red palm weevil's control covering an area of about 1500 mu in the Royal Date Garden of Abu Dhabi.

The visit has strengthened the scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
