On October 18-19, 2018，Professor Daniel Zaizumbo-Vilarreal, awarded by the Outstanding Achievement Award for Coconut Lethal Yellow Disease Research by the State Government of Colima, Mexico, was invited to the Coconut Research Institute for academic exchanges.

Professor Daniel made presetations on "Coconut Lethal Yellowing Research in America" and "Cultivation and Breeding Coconut in Mexico". After the presentation, the researchers had a detailed exchange on the research of fatal xanthosis of coconut.

Professor Daniel visited betel nut orchards infected with yellowing disease, Red Palm Weevil Breeding Lab and Predator Factories of Coconut Leaf Beetles. He expressed his sincere appreciation and admiration for the achievements made by the CRI in biological control of coconut leaf beetles.
