On the March 1st, 2019, Dr. Lukito Hasta, the former director of the Department of Science Park and Support Institutions of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia, led a delegation to visit the base and laboratory of our institute.
Indonesian delegation visited the oil palm germplasm resource nursery under the leadership of Dr. Zhang Dapeng. Dr. Zhang introduced the technology of intercropping flowers, sweet potatoes, pineapples and peanuts under oil palm trees, and the technology of intercropping grass and feeding sheeps under oil palm garden, and discussed the development of special fertilizer for oil palm and the technical cooperation of pest prevention and control in oil palm garden with guests. Subsequently, the delegation visited the coconut germplasm resource nursery, betel nut germplasm resource nursery and laboratory.
The mutual understanding has be enhanced by this visit and both sides expected to further cooperate in science and technology of oil palm and coconut. In particular, the delegation hopes that our institute can provide the opportunities of work in China for the outstanding young scientists in oil palm or coconut from the developing countries. They will send the scientific researchers to work in our institute and promote academic exchanges & cooperation for both sides.
