From May 6^th to May 15^th, Prof. Zhao Yinghua and Xu Zhongliang, Fu Haiquan, Huang shanChun and Zhang Ning went to the United Arab Emirates to carry out the special task of joint investigation and development evaluation of the agricultural resources of the "One Belt and One Road" tropical countries to the United Arab Emirates. The aim is to promote the technology exchange and cooperation between China and the countries along the belt and road, and promote the development of China's science and technology and the introduction of advanced technology and products from abroad. It laid a foundation for enriching the reserve of Chinese date palm germplasm resources and the research of biological control technology of pests and diseases.

They visited the date planting parks in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other regions of the United Arab Emirates including the date planting base of the United Arab Emirates Agricultural Club, the Royal date plantation of the United Arab Emirates, the national tissue culture plant of the date of the United Arab Emirates and so on, and discussed the date germplasm resources, pests, diseases and utilization technology of the main palm crops in the United Arab Emirates. Systematic investigation was carried out, in which they learned about the construction of comprehensive prevention and control base of red palm weevil. Agricultural experts from the United Arab Emirates were invited to discuss the cooperation of date research. 

In this survey, we found that Majhool, Barhee, Nagal, Kheneizi and Zamli are five high-quality varieties with great market value potential in the investigation of the germplasm resources of date in the United Arab Emirates. During the investigation of the tissue culture plant of date in the United Arab Emirates, we further discussed the technology of tissue culture of date with the scientific researchers, so as to provide us with the technology of tissue culture of date. In the meeting with Mr. Hadi, a government official in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, the advanced seedling-refining technology in tissue culture and the principle and effect of red brown weevil pheromone and its trap in China were introduced. Mr. Hadi acknowledged our technical achievements and expressed his intention of cooperation.
