Focusing on integrating domestic and South-East Asia coconut resources and increasing innovation ability and key competitive strength, “2019 Hainan(International) Cooperating Development Forum for Coconut Industry and 4th Annual Meeting of Coconut Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance” was held on Dec.11, 2019 in Haikou. The Government officials, experts and scholars from Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Tango, Vanuatu, and Indonesia met with over 200 representatives of domestic and foreign enterprises to deeply discuss about cooperation issues on the development of Hainan coconut industry, technological innovation, complementary regional advantages, and production, supply and marketing linkages cooperation , industrial park construction, and so on.
Responding to "Guiding Opinion on Vigorously Developing the Three Trees (Coconut, Areca, and Rubber) Industry" put forward by the Hainan Provincial Government , and based on common awareness of related enterprises, the forum tried to promote technology innovation cooperation on technology exchange, cooperatively build laboratory, cooperatively establish industrial park , fasten technology transportation, establish global coconut industry technology innovation alliance, build Hainan coconut museum together, fix the permanent conference site of coconut industry alliance, construct an international coconut culture centre, which ensured coconut industry the leading role in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative framework , helped Hainan become an international coconut industry trading centre .
Two agreement signing ceremonies were held during the forum: one co-construction strategic cooperation agreement named “the Establishment of Engineering Technology Academy of Comprehensive Biomass Material Making, and Production Base ” was signed by Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, Hainan Ruixiang Tropical Economy Investment Group Limited, and Chengde Huajing Activated Carbon Co. limited. The other agreement about the movie and TV series with coconut as the theme was signed by Nanguo Health Industry Co. limited, Hainan Xinzhuyuan Internet Technology Co. Limited, and Guangzhou Chenglong Movie Star Factory. The signing of the above cooperation agreements will fill Hainan’s gap of coconut culture and environmental protection industry.
