On September 11, Lei Wenzhong, CEO of Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation of Julong Group, and his delegation came to CRICATAS and had a discussion on project promotion and cooperation. The researchers of oil palm research center participated in the discussion.

At the meeting, relevant researchers introduced the progress of current cooperative projects, including the research and development of tissue culture seedlings of oil palm, fruit collect machine of oil palm, and the cultivation of new varieties of low palmitate oil palm. At present, the tissue culture technology system of oil palm has been constructed, and the mechanized fruit picking equipment has been tested for 3 times in the coconut experimental base and continued to be optimized, and 3 low-palmitic acid germplasm have been preliminarily created. Lei Wenzhong, CEO of Julong Group Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation, expressed his satisfaction with the smooth progress of the current cooperation project. At the same time, the two sides had in-depth talks and exchanges on the comprehensive prevention and control of major oil palm pests Oryctes rhinoceros and the research and development of oil palm specialized fertilizer, and reached the preliminary cooperation intention.

Mr. Lei Wenzhong and his colleagues also came to the scientific experimental and research base of the of Coconut Research Institute investigate the oil palm fruit picking equipment, and put forward improvement suggestions on the optimization of the fruit picking equipment.
