On September 10, the Second China-Philippines Forum for Agricultural Investment Cooperation was held in Xiamen. The forum was themed on "Serving the Government's Bilateral Cooperation and Promoting Enterprises to Invest in the Philippines". Headed by Secretary General of Hainan Coconut Industry Association and Deputy Director Fan Haikuo of CRICATAS, the delegation of 3 coconut researchers attended the meeting.

The Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Romana pointed out in his opening speech that with the gradual deepening of economic cooperation between the Philippines and China, the two countries have made new progress in agricultural investment cooperation. China’s investment in the Philippines’ agricultural is an important force in the field of economic growth. Ms. Ana, the Agricultural Counselor of the Philippine Embassy in China, gave a key explanation on the business environment in the agricultural sector where the Philippines has priority in attracting foreign investment, and released key investment promotion projects on behalf of Philippine companies.

Deputy Director Fan Haikuo of CRICATAS and the participants introduced the Hainan coconut industry and related coconut products to the Philippine Ambassador to China Jose Santiago Romana and the Agricultural Counselor Ana. They said that this special investment cooperation promotion conference is an effective platform for deepening the agricultural investment cooperation between the two countries and deepening the partnership between enterprises. Chinese coconut companies are welcome to invest in Philippines. Next time, when they have the opportunity to introduce investment hotspots, they will share the investment experience for coconut companies in Hainan.
