At the end of November, the arecanut seedlings of "Reyan No. 1" that customer was hankering for were finally out of the nursery. In the standardized seedling breeding base for arecanut of the Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, a scene of bustling activity presented. Trucks transporting seedlings waited in line one by one. Nursery garden workers counted seedlings, loaded seedlings well-ordered.

In the year of 2020, with the historically high price of arecanut, the enthusiasm of farmers and companies to plant arecanut is high. "Reyan No. 1" arecanut is the first arecanut variety bred by the Arecanut Research Center of the Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences through 19 years, which was approved by the National Tropical Crop Variety Approval Committee in June 2014. "Reyan No. 1" arecanut has been recognized and praised by many growers because of its good quality of fresh fruit, high yield and low fiber content. The Arecanut Research Center of the Coconut Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences has integrated an excellent seedling breeding technology system. In recent years, it has been committed to the cultivation, demonstration and promotion of high-yield and high-quality "Reyan No. 1" arecanut seedlings, and has already promoted the cultivation more than 1500 ha.
