In the afternoon of August 20, Dr. Walid, a visiting scholar from Egypt, held an academic exchange activity in CRI, and our researchers in the field of palm tissue culture participated in the activity.
With the topic "MICROPROPAGATION OF DATE PALM", Professor Walid not only introduced the necessity of conducting tissue culture research in the world at present, but also elaborated on the selection of the best explants in the tissue culture of date palm, the treatment of explants, and the selection of plant growth regulators in somatic embryo induction.The technology system is stable and mature, which has a strong guiding significance for the tissue culture research of Palma crops in our institute.
It is reported that Dr. Walid, as one of the Talented Young Scientist Program financed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, has applied for the extension of the Program and will continue to work on date-palm tissue culture and biotechnology in the CRI.
