On May 24, the oil palm mechanical fruit harvester jointly developed by the Coconut Reaserch Institute, Tianjin Julong Group Ltd, and Nanjing Institute of Agricultural Mechanization, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs was successfully tested in the national tropical palm germplasm resource nursery (oil palm) with good results. With the expansion of the planting area and the increase of output of the Indonesian oil palm plantation of Tianjin Julong Group Ltd, the need for fruit harvester is urgent. However, manual fruit picking has high labor intensity and low work efficiency, and the fruit harvesters are in short supply. The fruit harvester jointly developed by the three parties has been trial-produced for the fourth time. The prototype machine uses a clamp-type cutter head this time, which has the advantages of large shearing force, lightness, no vibration, and high harvesting efficiency. Afterwards, scientific researchers will optimize and improve the cutter heads and apply them to plantations to meet the urgent technical needs of Chinese enterprises for "Going Global" development of oil palm planting industry.
