On May 24th, Prof. Liu Kui, the director of the International Cooperation Department of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, led the delegation to Tianjin Julong Group Ltd to investigate the progress of scientific and technological cooperation between the Coconut Reaserch Institute and Tianjin Julong Group Ltd in Indonesian oil palm plantations. Mr. Zhang Ya, vice president of Julong Group Ltd, and Prof.. Cao Hongxing, the director of Oil Palm Research Center of Coconut Research Institute attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Qiu Aimiao introduced the development history of the company's oil palm plantation and processing in Indonesia, and thanked Coconut Reaserch Institute for its technical support for more than 10 years! Director Cao Hongxing introduced the current progress of cooperation between Coconut Reaserch Institute and Tianjin Julong Group Ltd, including the creation of new high-unsaturated fatty acid germplasm, the construction of tissue culture technology system and the research and development of fruit harvesters, etc., and proposed future cooperation plans. Director Liu Kui concluded that the development of Tianjin Julong Group Ltd’s entire oil palm industrial chain in Indonesia is in line with Chinese “One Belt, One Road”initiative and the direction of industrial development, and Coconut Reaserch Institute must aim at the key technology of industry needs, to carry out scientific research, to promote the construction of Indonesia Test Station of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, continuously deepen cooperation, and serve the country's edible oil supply safety needs.
