At the meeting, the participating units had a heated discussion on the formulation of evaluation standards for eco-economic varieties of tea-oil camellia, regional test and selection of eco-economic varieties, innovation of modern seedling raising techniques, matching high-efficiency planting techniques and so on. At the meeting, Dr. Xiaocheng Jia made a work report entitled "Breeding and Existing Problems of Tea-oil Camellia in Hainan", and put forward some suggestions on setting up test sites in Hainan to screen eco-economic varieties of tea-oilcamellia which are suitable for Hainan. This meeting defined the focus of work in the next step, and reached a consensus on data sharing, promotion of key work, cooperation and exchange, which laid a good foundation for the smooth implementation of the next topic.

After the meeting, Dr. Xiaocheng Jia inspected the National Improved Variety Base of Chinese fir and tea-oil camellia at Xiaokeng Forest Farm in Qujiang District, Shaoguan City, and found that the Hainan tea-oil camellia strain planted in the early stage grew well in the base. In order to popularize the new varieties of Reyan series of tea-oil Camellia, we reached a preliminary intention with the base to try out the new varieties of Reyan series of tea-oil camellia.
