May 18, CRICATAS and Tianjin Jiulong Group held a joint research project cooperation communication conference by video. Mr. Lei Wenzhong who is CEO of Jiulong Group Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation, Mr. Qiu Aimiao who is the director of public and government affairs of Tianjin Jiulong Group, Dr. Fan Haikuo who is the deputy director of Coconut Research Institute, Dr. Cao Hongxing who is the director of oil palm research center and related technologies of oil palm research personnels attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Lei Wenzhong, CEO of Julong Group Indonesia Oil Palm Plantation, put forward some urgent problems which were difficulties in harvesting oil palm fruit, construction of tissue culture laboratory and system optimization to be solved. Dr. Cao Hongxing of CRICATAS introduced the current cooperation progress between CRICATAS and the Julong Group, the current cooperation progress included scientific research achievements such as obtaining seedlings with high unsaturated fatty acid by radiation mutagenesis and improving and optimizing the technique system of tissue culture, fulfill the requirements of the contract, the next step research plans such as proposing and developing the oil palm anti-rancidity study, co-operation direction of the tripartite such as the project application and co-operation. Deputy Director Fan Haikuo proposed to develop oil palm special fertilizer through on-the-spot investigation of soil structure and fertility of Indonesian plantations. The three parties agreed to speed up the construction of tissue culture laboratory and system optimization of Julong group, and to use gene editing technology to carry out anti-rancidity research of oil palm. The meeting has achieved remarkable results and played a role in promoting the next tripartite cooperation.
