On June 23, Huang Jin-cheng, the director of Hainan Forestry Bureau, went to  Coconut Research Institute to investigate the construction of tea-oil camellia demonstration base. Li Ru-fa, the division chief of Forestry Bureau, Wang Fu-you, the director of Coconut Research Institute, and all researchers of tea-oil camellia research center participated in the research activities.

At the construction site of the tea-oil camellia demonstration base, Dr. Jia Xiao-cheng reported in detail to Huang Jin-cheng on the variety selection, seedling breeding and demonstration base construction of the tea-oil camellia research center. Director Huang Jin-cheng stressed that the construction of demonstration bases is an important part of the development of tea-oil camellia industry, and it is necessary to pay close attention to varieties, seedlings, and planting standards, and do a good job in variety allocation, so as to lay a good foundation for the promotion of new varieties.

Director Huang Jin-cheng also investigated the palm germplasm resources tissue culture laboratory of Coconut Research Institute, and listened to Prof. Wang Fu-you, director of the Coconut Research Institute, on the progress report on the collection and conservation of germplasm resources, the seedling breeding of new varieties of betel nut and coconut, and the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. He fully affirmed the achievements made in palm tissue culture and seedling breeding of new varieties of coconut and betel nut.
