Coconut Reaserch Institute and University of Agriculture Faisalabad of Pakistan Exchanged to Promote Project Implementation by Video

On June 28, Coconut Research Institute and University of Agriculture Faisalabad of Pakistan jointly held a video conference to jointly promote the implementation of "Pakistan Tropical Economic Palm Production Technology Integration and Demonstration" which is a international science and technology cooperation project of Hainan Province. Director Wang Fuyou, the project host of Coconut Research Institute, and the project team members, as well as researchers from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad of Pakistan, the project partner, attended the meeting.

Dr. Rashad Waseem from Pakistan reported on the progress of the current project and the next work plan. He pointed out that good progress has been made in the prevention and control of red palm weevil in Pakistani date palm orchards and the initial promotion of king grass for animal husbandry. The two parties conducted in-depth discussions on the trial planting of coconut and oil palm in areas with higher temperatures such as Sindh Province, the promotion of prevention and control technology of the red palm weevil, and the use and the supervision of funds. Director Wang Fufu expressed his appreciation for the good progress made by Pakistan in the project and hoped that both parties would maintain regular communication and work together to promote the high-quality completion of the project. Both parties are confident in the smooth completion of the project through communication.

The implementation of this project is of great significance to promote Chinese red palm weevil comprehensive prevention and control technology and the going global of fine varieties of king grass, and to expand the influence of Chinese tropical economic palm production related technologies in Pakistan.
