  Education Background

  Chen Liangqiu, a tropical plant cultivation specielist by training, received his BSc degree of Science(1988) from Hainan University, China, and his master degree in  land resources management (1993) from China Agricultural University.

  Research Area

  Prof. Chen have completed the breeding of two oil-tea Camellia varieties named “Reyan 1#” and “Reyan 2#”, which are all adapted to the tropical environment. As the leader of Oil Camellia Research Department (OCRD), he origin and maintain the OCRD. As the only one national research institution of public service specializing in protection, development and utilization of Oil Camellia in tropical regions, OCRD is playing a leading role in research on camellia germplasm collection, evaluation, utilization and high-yield cultivation technology development, especially on introduction and breeding work, SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) cultivation and GAP (Good Agricultural Practice) base construction.
